Obituary of Delfina Villarreal

Delfina Villarreal (Ama) of San Benito, Texas passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on June 4, 2022. Delfina was surrounded by her loving family until her last moments. Ama was born on December 24, 1934 in Rio Hondo, Texas and lived the rest of her life in San Benito, Texas. Delfina was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother/great grandmother, daughter and sister. Her powerful faith, kindness, love and wisdom will be remembered forever in the hearts, minds and souls of many. Ama loved being outdoors (tending to her beautiful plants), cooking and playing bingo/chalupa. She blessed and impacted her family’s life with her infectious spirit and passion for taking care of anyone and anything. Delfina will now continue to bloom in God’s garden and walk in heaven’s glory. Ama will forever be loved and missed, never forgotten. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Luisa Torres, her loving husband, Guadalupe Villlarreal, and her loving son, Guadalupe Villarreal Jr. Left to cherish her memory, are her children, Maria Luisa (Basilio) Garcia, Juanita De La Garza, Gilberto Villarreal, Francisco (Ana) Villarreal, Esmeralda (Jr) Noriega, Dora Elia (Ruben) Morales, Jesus (Gabriela) Villarreal. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 5 pm to 9 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 10 am at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in San Benito. Burial will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. At Delfina’s request, no cell phones or pictures are to be allowed. All individuals are asked to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
