Robert Elmer Shugars, 84, of Port Isabel, TX passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Elida Guerrero Shugars; Father, Elmer Clyde Shugars and Mother, Letha Rose Jackson; 1 brother, David Lee Shugars; and 1 sister, Janice Arlene King. He is survived by his son, Robert Raymond Shugars; 1 daughter, Deborah Rose Bodden (Brent); 10 grandchildren, Natalie Shugars, Alice Shugars, Serena Shugars, Robert I. Shugars, Kayla Shugars, Mason Ray Shugars, Robert Lee Fernandez, Amanda Lee Fernandez, Ross Alan Bodden and Savannah Rose Bodden; 7 great grandchildren, Manuel Martinez, Ellie, Robert Fernandez Jr., Lennox Avery Fernandez, Lincoln Alan Fernandez, Zadyn Adame, Donovan Adame; and 1 brother, Daniel John Shugars: and daughter in law, Cynthia Rivera. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held Saturday May 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow to Buena Vista Cemetery in Brownsville, TX.
