Bertha Alicia Moates, 46, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021. She is preceded in death by her father; Manuel Carlos Rueda. Left to cherish her memories, in addition to her children, are her mom Bertha Alicia Rueda; brother, Manuel Rueda; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bertha was born in Brownsville, Texas but San Luis Potosi was her Tierra. She studied and received her business degree then settled down in the Valley, where she worked and managed a financial institution successfully for over 12 years. She married Michael Moates on February 17, 2011, together they bought a home in San Benito and brought two beautiful girls; Samantha and Madison into this world. She enjoyed every friend; loved and honored her family. She was a devoted Christian who helped the less fortunate and thanked the Lord for every blessing every day. Her legacy will live through her daughters, husband and all those that loved her. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and face covers or masks are recommended.
