Pedro Hernandez, 76, of Harlingen, went to be with our Lord, on October 25, 2021, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gonzalo and Calletana Hernandez, along with a daughter, Araceli Hernandez, a niece; Dora Alicia Vargas, and a nephew, Bobby Vargas. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Amalie Mendez, Graciela Negrete, and Pedro Carillo Jr. Also surviving are his siblings, Hermelinda Mares, Rosa Vargas, and Jesus Hernandez, along with nieces and nephews; Graciela Garcia, Castulo Vargas Jr., Juan & Erica, Dora Alicia, Adolfo Jr., Alberto, Antonio, Arturo, Aida and Alejandro. His grandchildren, Araceli, Arliana, Arlissa, Arlynn, Arlette, Andrew, Javier, Isaac, Julyana, Priscilla, Yvionne, and Christopher survive, along with great-grand-children David Valeria, Victoria, Aiden, Sophia, Alexander, Madeline, Michael and Emily. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7 PM. Services will conclude at the end of the evening. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
