Blanca Betancourt, 70 of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. She was born on July 9, 1951 in Providence Zacatecas, Mexico. Blanca was an outstanding example for everybody around her. Not only was she a great, friend, sister, aunt; but she was also an amazing grandma, mother, daughter and an even better wife. She always went out of her way to make sure that whoever she cared for had everything necessary and more. She was very giving and loving to the point that she would sacrifice her last meal just so her loved one can eat. She loved to spread the word of hope Jehovah God gives us about an everlasting life to any and everybody. We cannot express how much of an amazing person she was. She will be greatly missed and loved by many, many people. We love you forever and always. Blanca is preceded in death by her husband: Guadalupe Betancourt, mother: Maria Luisa Rivera, step-father: Policarpio Rivera, and sister: Catalina Garza. She is survived by her daughters: Guadalupe Betancourt (Miguel Cuellar) and Prescilla Sanchez , granddaughters: Geraldine Lopez, Jacqueline Lopez, Prescilla Lopez, Blanca Tabares, and Samantha Ibarra. She is also survived by her siblings: Mauricio Sanchez (Rosa), Manuel Sanchez (Maria), Betty Alaniz (Sandalio), Ana Luisa Barrientes, Jane Rivera and their families. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and in accordance to her wishes cremation will follow. Burial of her ashes will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Port Isabel City Cemetery. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
