Manolo “Manny” Esparza, 47, of Laguna Heights/Port Isabel passed away Wednesday September 15, 2021. He is preceded in death by his grandmother: Aurora D. Rosales, grandfather: Lorenzo Rosales, Sr., father: Ignacio Esparza, step dad: Tiburcio Chavez, uncles: Guadalupe Rosales, Sr., Lorenzo Rosales, Jr., aunts: Beatriz Flores, Lydia Johnson, and brother-in-law: Mike Silva Sr. He is survived by his loving mother: Juanita Rosales Chavez; sister: Ericka Chavez, brother: Juan Lorenzo Chavez, several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. Manny is a lifelong resident of Laguna Heights/Port Isabel. He was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church of Port Isabel. He was a 1991 graduate of Port Isabel High School. He obtained a degree as a Medical Assistant. Manny worked for many years at the Blue Marlin Supermarket at South Padre Island, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday September 30, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Steven Hyde officiating at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas with cremation to follow as per his wishes. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
