James Andrew Imel, 48, of San Benito, TX, passed away on September 16, 2021 in the comfort of his home. James was born in Harlingen Texas to Jerry and Betty Imel on August 15, 1973. He went to high school and graduated from Edcouch Elsa. He worked as a bartender for many years at various places such as The Harlingen Country Club, Chili’s and Mustang Lounge. After his bartending years James went on to assume roles in management with Lowes and most recently Harbor Freight. James loved to travel and spend time with his wife and kids. He loved to entertain, cook and work on his yard. His laugh was one of a kind and very contagious. His mixology skills, music and movie expertise along with smooth words brought any party to life. James is survived by his wife, Angelina Martinez of San Benito, two children; son Justin Imel and daughter Abigail Joann (Abi Jo) Martinez-Imel, brothers Jeremy (Cortney) Imel and Joshua Imel and his mother Betty Sue Imel. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather J. D Imel and his father Jerry Dale Imel. Visitation will be held on Friday September 24, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Memorial Chapel Service will be held on Monday September 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with inurnment of cremated remains to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
