Rosa Rodriguez, 83, of El Ranchito, TX went to be with the lord on September 1, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Rosa was born on January 15, 1938 in El Ranchito, TX to Eustolia Garza and Anastacio Hernandez. Rosa was married to Abel Rodriguez May 9, 1959, she was a loving wife to her devoted husband of 62 years. A loving mother to 7 children Adan, Minerva✝️, Abel Jr., Concepcion (Billy) Johnson, Jose, Maria (Eleazar) Muniz, and Alejandro. Rosa was a stay at home mother for many years, during the summers she worked as a daycare worker for Telamon Migrant Headstart in Adrian, MI. Rosa and Husband Abel shared a beautiful life together in Michigan where they raised their children and grandchildren before retiring to Texas in 1998. Rosa enjoyed participating in school field trips with her children and grandchildren and cooking for her family, friends and neighbors in both Michigan and Texas. Rosa enjoyed playing bingo and loteria with her family and friends, she also enjoyed participating in prayer groups and making tamales with her family in Michigan and Texas. Rosa’s home was always filled with laughter and food that she happily shared with visitors. Rosa was loving and outspoken woman who was active in the lives of her 7 children and 18 grandchildren Joshua Avila, Adan Jr., Emilio and Xavier (Adan) Rosita, Maria and Daniel (Minerva) Davinna, Brianna, Cain, Roman, and Envy (Maria) Emilio E., Jose, Jessie and Ruben (Jose), Savannah✝️, (Concepcion), Jozlynn (Alejandro). Rosa and her husband Abel were also blessed with several great grandchildren. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents Eustolia Garza and Anastacio Hernandez 7 siblings Guadalupe Bejaran, Luisa Torres, Ruben, Anastacio Jr., Pedro, Carlos, Juan, daughter Minerva and granddaughter Savannah Johnson. Rosa is survived by her loving husband Abel Rodriguez and 6 of their children, 18 grandchildren and great grandchildren and brothers Ramon, Anacleto and Nieves Hernandez who will miss her laughter, quick wit, advice, prayers, and love dearly. Rosa kept in touch with her extended family and friends through Facebook which she enjoyed, Rosa will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends who will love and cherish the memories she shared. Viewing will be held on Wednesday September 8, 2021 from 3pm to 9pm with Rosary starting at 7pm. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday September 9, 2021 at 2pm at St. Ignacio Church in El Ranchito, burial to follow at Torres Cemetery. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
