Basilia Flores, 86, of San Benito, went to be with our Lord on September 2, 2021, surrounded by loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents; Pedro Flores and Dolores Trevino, her brothers; Vidal and Juan Flores, and a grandson; Reynaldo Rios Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Duke (Maggie) Benavides, Arturo (Diana) Benavides, Elida Alma (Reynaldo) Rios, Esmeralda (Raymond) Watson, Janie Jay Gonzalez, Wallie Jean (Henry) Benavides, Angie Dolores (Simon) Macias, and Rebecca (Jose Roel) Cruz. Also surviving are her siblings; Juanita Flores Molina, Francisco Flores, and Guadalupe Cruz, along with 34 grandchildren, 59 great grand-children, and 4 great great-grandchildren. There are 105 reasons why our Mother was so overwhelmingly blessed. She was the Patriarch of our family because she raised her Children as a single parent and yet instilled in us the ways of the Lord until her final days. What she desired most and asked God for is that All her 105 reasons & future generations would serve Our Living God just as she did with all her heart. She trusted in Gods’ promises and held on to her faith that God has already brought it to pass as she desired. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Visitation will be held on Monday September 6, 2021, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, with a prayer service to be held at 7 pm. A Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 10 am, at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
