Abundia "Avon" Rios, 65 years of age, was called to heaven on August 21, 2021. Abundia is preceded in by her parents: Carlos Z. and Victoria P. Barrientos, 4 brothers: Ramon Barrientos, Carlos Barrientos Jr., Ruben Barrientos, and Martin Barrientos, 1 daughter: Melissa Rios. Left to cherish her loving memory is her husband of 42 years, Francisco Rios Sr.; 3 sons, Frank Rios, Jr., Jonathan (Mandy) Rios, and Michael Rios (Charlene Martinez);10 grandchildren: Marissa Lynn Rios, Rhyan Michael Rios, Devon Ray Rios, Mason Lee Rios, Olivia Rosa Rios, Audrey Nicole Rios, Katelynn Rios, Gabriel Vasquez, Michael Vasquez and Daniel Vasquez; 2 sisters: Rosa (Fernando) Gonzalez and Raquel Barrientos; 2 brothers, Jose Barrientos and Roel Lee Barrientos; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Abundia was born on July 11, 1956 to Carlos and Victoria Barrientos. She had 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Abundia married Francisco Rios on May 5, 1979 in San Benito, Texas, and had one daughter and three sons. She received her GED and Masters in Theology and a Certificate for Christian Counseling. Abundia loved shopping with her sisters, traveling with her family, attending sporting events, attending school functions of her grandchildren, spreading the word of God and helping anyone who needed it. Visitation will be held Friday August 27, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral home in San Benito, Texas. Church Service will be held Saturday August 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Power House Church 119 N 1st St, Harlingen, TX with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
