Obituary of Judith Marie Sanchez

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judith “Judy” Marie Sanchez, 57, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on August 4, 2021. She is preceded in death by her loving Father Uvaldo B. Holland Sr.. She is Survived by her Loving husband of 31 years, Agustin Sanchez, her daughter Edyth Marie Galvan(Johnny Jr.), her son Joseph Joel Sanchez(Dafne), and her Grandsons, Private First Class Jalen Jude Galvan, Kaleb Rian Galvan, Luke Edan Galvan, and Leon Augustine Sanchez. Also left to cherish her memory are her two brothers, Uvaldo Holland Jr. (Dorothy) and Mark Anthony Holland (Ana) as well as her beloved Mother Emma C. Holland. Judy was a lifelong resident of Port Isabel. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Judy was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She was a part of the Port Isabel High School Class of 1982 and shortly after graduation was employed by the Port Isabel Housing Authority. She spent 39 years there, twenty-nine of which she served as the executive director where she frequently gave back to the community with events such as bingo fundraisers for programs including Star of the Resident Council, Self Sufficient Section 8 Program, and the H.A.V.E organization. During her spare time, she often enjoyed simply spending time with her family and friends. Judy was always the life of the party. She was always out and about. She loved to travel, shop, bake, gamble, and enjoyed her weekly Zumba classes. She loved to decorate whether it was at her house or in the office for each and every holiday, but her absolute favorite was Halloween. Judy also adored her four grandsons, and they were the light of her life. She would frequently travel back and forth just to catch a game (of theirs), attend school events, or merely stop by to spend some quality time with them. She was the typical grandma proudly sharing her grandchildren’s accomplishments with others, while also spoiling them often. Judy was a strong and resilient woman even during her last days of life. She will be forever missed amongst her family, friends, and community. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
