Isabel Alvarez, loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend, passed away at the age of 75 in Harlingen, TX on July 3, 2021 due to health complications. She was born on May 26, 1946 in Puebla, Mexico and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Isabel, lovingly called Chabela, moved to Wichita Falls, TX with her mother in 1970. A few years later, she moved to Port Isabel, TX with her brother and sister-in-law to help care for her mother, nieces and nephews for several years, but returned to Wichita Falls, where she made her home these last 30+ years. For the last 4 years, Isabel enjoyed the company of her beloved fur-baby and loyal friend, Chiquita, her miniature Chihuahua. Isabel was a strong, independent, religious, caring woman. She loved God, shared his word and always tried to lead her loved ones back to the church, to know God and pray. She was a devout Catholic, a member of Cursillo, a mission volunteer, a Guadalupana, and a volunteer in her church community. She was a lifetime-learner and enjoyed taking English classes, attending bible study, dance classes, and others; she loved dancing. One of her proudest moments was becoming a Citizen of the United States of America after applying and studying for the test with the help of her church community. Isabel was very resourceful and helped and cared for many people throughout her life. Isabel was preceded in death by her parents: Vicente Alvarez Puig and Alicia Lara de Alvarez. She is survived by her brother, Carlos A. Alvarez, and sister-in-law, Maria G. Alvarez. Her nieces & nephews: Vicente A. Alvarez (Janie), Victor C. Alvarez (Victoria), Alicia G. Baldovinos (Victor), M.Carla Alvarez; and her grand-nieces & grand-nephews: Lara V. Baldovinos, Carlos I. Alvarez, Marcos F. Baldovinos, and Valentin Alvarez.
