Matthew Luis Macias, age 12, from San Benito, TX, went to heaven on June 22, 2021. Matt was born in Harlingen, TX on July 4, 2008 to Magda Juarez and Marcos Macias. He was a 7th grader at Liberty Memorial Middle School and was promoted to the 8th grade. Matt enjoyed watching YouTube videos and military movies, fishing, collecting knives, and shooting guns. He loved red, white, and blue, and all things camouflage. Matt was a firecracker who dreamed of becoming an Army Ranger. Most of all, Matt loved being with his family, safe at home. Matt fought long and hard to the end. He was strong, brave, and resilient. Matt is now free of all pain and suffering, doing all the things this world didn’t let him do. Matt was welcomed into heaven by lots of loving family. Matt is missed by his parents, Magda and Marcos, his siblings, Megan, Marlene and Mark, his grandmothers Momo Ciri and Abuela Gela, his brother in law, CJ, and his doggies, Maui, Minnie, Tuxedo and Stormy. He’ll be missed by countless others because he was irresistible. Memorial service will be held at Thomae Garza Funeral Home on Saturday, June 26th, from 12 pm - 5 pm.
