Esmeralda Vela, 58, of Olmito, Texas passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Bakersfield, CA. Esmeralda loved spending time with her grandchildren and also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dog Max. Esmeralda was always the life of the party and had a very charismatic personality, always making friends wherever she went. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents: Rosalio and Josefa Vela. She is survived by her children: Delia Yoder and Alberto Cervantes, Jr., 4 grandchildren and siblings: Elvia Saldivar, Ernestina Vela, Rosalio Vela, Elida Huerta, Raul Vela, Ruben Vela, Ester Vela, Ramon Vela, and Eva Reyes. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel service will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito with interment to follow at Los Soldados Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas.
