Esmeralda Alaniz Garcia, 50, of Port Isabel Texas passed away March 11, 2021 in Cypress Texas. She was born on December 1, 1970 in Brownsville, Texas to Uvaldo Alaniz and Maria D. Alaniz. Esmeralda loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved cooking and enjoyed playing loteria a lot. She is preceded in death by her father Uvaldo Alaniz. She is survived by her husband; Jair Garcia, Daughter; Rebecca Lynn Cantu-Gaytan, sons Jose Maximo Cantu Jr., and Gabriel Omar Cantu; mother: Maria Alaniz; siblings; Rita Catarina (Rudy) Garcia, Jaime Osvaldo (Terri) Alaniz, Eva Lorena (Leo) Camacho, Ismael Alaniz, Blanca Estela (Lupe) Barbosa, Maria Isabel (Jesse) Finona, and Marina (Raul) Garcia; Grandchildren; Ethan Daniel Gaytan, Giselle Elise Gaytan, and Paula Guadalupe Cantu. She will be greatly missed by all her loving family, friends and all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 5 p.m., until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 26, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church 705 S Longoria St, Port Isabel, TX 78578.
