Jesus R. “El Platano / Chuy” Garcia, 80, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, in Harlingen, Texas. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bertha Ambarina Garcia, his parents, Rebecca Masel Rodriguez, and Francisco Torres Garcia. Brothers, Jose Angel R. Garcia, Francisco R. Garcia, Antonio R. Garcia, and Enrique R. Garcia. Two Great-grandsons, Trevin Ohmar Anguiano and Traviz Luke Anguiano. Jesus is survived by his children, Jesus A. Garcia, Jennifer Wendy Abrego (Jesus), and Juan Carlos Garcia. Eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; Two brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021, from 5 p.m., until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Thursday, March 25, at 10 a.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
