Hilario Compean, went home to be with the lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on March 18, 2021. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he left this earth and entered the holy Kingdom of God. He was born in San Benito, TX to Juan and Mariana Compean, and was a lifetime resident of San Benito, Texas Hilario had been a shrimper on the waters off the Texas Gulf Coast since he was sixteen years old. He quickly worked his way up to captain and spent most of his career as captain of the “Rosie B” shrimp boat until his retirement. Through his hard work as a shrimper, his children were able to receive their college education. Upon his retirement, Hilario dedicated his time to taking care of his grandkids while his children were at work. Hilario loved spending time with his grandchildren and amazing them with stories of his adventures at sea. Hilario was known as “Popo” to his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
