Obituary of Jose Ramiro Alvarado

Jose Ramiro Alvarado, 66, of Port Isabel Texas passed away on February 6, 2021, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Ramiro always had a smile on his face ready for pictures. He loved his baseball games, especially watching the Red Sox. He never left the house without his baseball cap. Ramiro had a sense of humor that would bring so much laughter to all that knew him. He was always there when anything was asked of him. No was not part of his vocabulary. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Felipa Herrera Alvarado; sisters, Olga Alvarado, Rosa Alvarado and Juana Alvarado; brothers, Sixto Alvarado, Joel Alvarado, and Rafael Alvarado. Ramiro is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Guadalupe Norma Alvarado; children, Imelda (Ricardo) Zermeno, Zenaida (Alex) Gonzalez, and Jose Ramiro Alvarado, Jr. Also left to cherish his memories are his loving grandchildren, Averie Lorena Colunga, Alek Ricardo Zermeno, Alanna Lizette Zermeno and Devin Angel Alvarado; his brother, Jose Alfredo (Rosario) Alvarado and his sister, Maria (Rejino) Ortiz Alvarado. Pall bears: Grandsons: Devin Angel Alvarado and Alek Ricardo Zermeno, Granddaughters: Averie Lorena Colunga and Alanna Lizette Zermeno, nephews: Joel Alvarado and Noah Elias Martinez. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, 395 S. Sam Houston Blvd., in San Benito. A chapel service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., on February 11, 2021, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with burial to follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.
