Benita Mendoza Cortez, 77 yrs. old of Dover, Florida passed away on September 30, 2020 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Benita was born in San Benito, Tx. to Marcial Mendoza and Monica Alonzo on April 03, 1943. She went to high school at San Benito High School and graduated in 1960. A loyal daughter, sister and aunt, Benita devoted her life to her husband, daughters and 6 grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all her friends, family, children, and grandchildren. May you rest easily mami, You will forever live in our hearts and memories. Benita is survived by her Husband Antonio Cortez Jr. of Dover Florida. Two daughters; Maricela Cortez Garcia (Salmon Garcia) of Dover Florida and Marisol Cortez Olivo ( Robert Olivo) of Houston Tx. Six grandkids; Austin Julian Cortez, Isaac Marcial Garcia, Elian Guadalupe Garcia, Joncarlo Cortez, Sari Vivianna Garcia and Iris Sarai Olivo. Rejoicing with her in Heaven is her Dad Marcial Mendoza, mom Monica Alonzo Mendoza, sister Graciela Mendoza and son in law Robert Olivo. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 4-7pm with rosary to follow 7-9pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral service will be held at St Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2 p.m. Honored to serve as pallbearers are ;Her grandsons Austin Cortez, Isaac Garcia, Elian Garcia, Joncarlo Cortez, Nephews Joey Mendoza, Marcos Mendoza, Ismael Mendoza, Noah Trevino.
