Teresita San Pedro Gaytan, 84, passed away on September 30, 2020 in San Benito, Texas. Born January 25, 1936, Teresita was a very devoted servant of God and very involved in her beloved St. Theresa Catholic Church. She enjoyed teaching CCD classes to the youth of St. Theresa. Her angelic voice was heard loud and clear during Sunday Mass as she enjoyed singing. Before her illness, she was an active member of The Carmelites. During her younger years, she gave selflessly to the American Cancer Society as well. Most importantly, she loved fiercely, especially her grandchildren and great-grand-children. Teresa was the most self-less woman who made sure everyone’s needs were met before hers. She is preceded in death by her parents: Francisco and Carolina San Pedro; brothers and sisters: Jose Manuel San Pedro, Elida Perez, Paula Villanueva, Natividad Cervantes, Gloria Perez, Santos San Pedro: daughter-in-law Yolanda Gaytan. Surviving Teresita are Husband: Rufino Gaytan; Sons Rufino Gaytan, Jr. (Yolanda Gaytan +) and Rene (Hilda) Gaytan; daughters: Rachel (Rodney) Munguia, Veronica Gaytan (Robert Salazar). Brothers and Sisters: Francisco (Irma) San Pedro, Beatrice (Jose) Saldivar, Frances Sauceda, Maria Elena (Eduardo) Gaytan, Francisco (Irma) San Pedro, Jose Luis (Tina) San Pedro, and Israel San Pedro, and beloved sister-in-law Eduvijes Alvarado. Grandchildren: Randall Munguia (Charisma Flores), Laura (Fred) Vasquez, Angela (Jaime) Colmenero, Lilyan (Joe) Trevino, Rellenny (Mike Salinas) Munguia, Victoria Gaytan, Ryan (Nallely) Gaytan, Riki (Noah Chavez) Munguia, Romanita Munguia, Edric Salazar, Ethan Salazar, Esiah Salazar, Eliana Salazar. Great Grandchildren: Reynaldo Ratliff, Jr., Gabriella Ratliff, Adellyn Marie Gaytan, Abram Ryan Gaytan, and Amberley May Gaytan, Rozalyn Mae Salinas, Josiah Alexander Trevino and Evan Jackson Colmenero. Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Randal Munguia, Ryan Gaytan, Edric Salazar, Ethan Salazar, Rodney Munguia and Robert Salazar. Due to current COVID restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, San Benito, Texas. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
