Veronica C. Cantu, 92, entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2020. Veronica was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and devoted Catholic. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, she was devoted to the Guadalupaña. First member of the Guadalupaña and Spanish choir; member of the rosary and posada group and taught CCE; and a member of the Valley Inter Faith. She was an amazing and strong lady who devoted her time to God, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren, and others. She was a respectful, loving, and caring person who always thought about others before herself. Her faith let her see the good in all of others. She was a mother and a third generation grandmother, who taught us about God and showed us how to have faith in us. She gave us many wonderful memories, lectures, lessons and showed us to be strong. She wasn’t just a mother or grandmother, but our role model. She was the heart to this family and was our whole world. Her faith in God blessed her all with her greatest gift of all, she was blessed with 92 amazing years and five generations of wonderful memories. She will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you dearly. We love you, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Quierno and Guadalupe Rubio Camacho; her husband, Carlos G. Cantu; two sons, Jose and Thomas Cantu; four daughters, Linda Rae Cantu, Laurie Cantu, Nena Vasquez, and Cecilia Zamora; grandson, Ricardo Zamora, III; one granddaughter, Lupita Zamora; two great-great-grandchildren, Reynaldo S.
