Aurora C. Torres, 80, of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020. She was born on October 16, 1939 in Harlingen, TX. She was the ninth of ten siblings. Aurora resided in Los Fresnos, TX for the entirety of her single life. When she met her husband, Luis Torres in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, they married and established their home also in the city of Los Fresnos, where they raised their two daughters, Noemi and Estela. Aurora dedicated herself to raising and caring for her family, as she was a housewife throughout her entire married life. She enjoyed crocheting, watching TV classics like the Andy Griffith Show and Bonanza, and caring for her outdoor plants. Something that brought Aurora great joy was spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face, than seeing her little ones run around and enjoy the precious moments in life. She will be remembered as a loving and thoughtful wife, mother, and grandmother. Rest In Peace our sweet angel. she is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Torres. Aurora is survived by her two daughters, Noemi Torres and Estela (Gilberto) Lucio; grandchildren, Yesenia Casas, Daisy (Jesus) Martinez, Gil Miguel Lucio, Kimberly Lucio and Luis Heriberto Lucio; three great-grandchildren, Leonel Martinez, Valentina Martinez and Ximena Martinez; siblings, Luisa Zepeda, Geronimo (Beatriz) Cruz, Fracisca (Jose) Gonzalez and Tomasa Rodrigues as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. (may include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings). Visitation will begin Wednesday, September 2, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church and burial will follow at Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas.
