Obituary of Maria Castillo Castro

With humble acceptance of God's will, Maria Castillo Castro 80, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 1, 2020, surrounded by her youngest daughters Lorena and Olivia at Harlingen Medical Center. Her five daughters are eternally grateful to God that they were allowed to say their final farewell. Maria was born on November 18, 1939, the eldest daughter of the late Pedro and Altagracia Castillo. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Catalina Castillo and Raquel Castillo Ramirez and her brother Ruben Castillo. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her loving husband, Guadalupe Castro and her five daughters: Silvia (Siavash) Khaleghi, Christina (David) Mendez, Lisa Castro (Jesus Martinez), Lorena Castro, and Olivia Castro; five grandchildren, David Joseph and Catalina Mendez; Alec, Leily, and Nathen Khaleghi; numerous nieces and nephews and two sisters: Amparo "Amy" Vega and Rosa Castillo Flores and three brothers, Inocencio Castillo, Santiago Castillo, and Fernando Castillo all of Los Fresnos, TX. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary prayed at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. On Monday, August 10, 2020 visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 50% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. (may include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings). A Catholic Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Brownsville, TX. Interment will follow to Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, TX. Mom, when God saw you were too tired to go on and that there was no hope in healing you, He put his arms around you and said, "Come to me". With teary eyes we saw you leave and although we loved you very much, we couldn't make you stay. A heart of gold stopped beating, hardworking hands rested. God broke our hearts to prove that He only takes the best. Sus cinco hijas están eternamente agradecidas a Dios porque les permitió despedirse de ella. María nació el 18 de noviembre de 1939, la hija mayor de los difuntos Pedro y Altagracia Castillo. Le precedieron en la muerte dos hermanas, Catalina Castillo y Raquel Castillo Ramírez y su hermano Rubén Castillo. Ella deja cariñosos recuerdos para ser apreciados por su amoroso esposo, Guadalupe Castro y sus cinco hijas: Silvia (Siavash) Khaleghi, Christina (David) Mendez, Lisa Castro (Jesús Martínez), Lorena Castro, y Olivia Castro; cinco nietos, David Joseph y Catalina Mendez; Alec, Leily, y Nathen Khaleghi; numerosos sobrinos y dos hermanas: Amparo "Amy" Vega y Rosa Castillo Flores y tres hermanos, Inocencio Castillo, Santiago Castillo, y Fernando Castillo todos Los Fresnos, TX. Las visitas se llevarán a cabo el domingo 9 de agosto de 2020 de 3:00 PM a 9:00 PM, con un Santo Rosario rezado a las 5:00 PM y 7:00 PM. El lunes, 10 de agosto de 2020 las visitas serán de 2:00 PM a 9:00 PM con un Santo Rosario rezado a las 7:00 PM en Thomae-Garza Funeral Home en San Benito, TX. Debido a las restricciones de covid, este establecimiento seguirá el límite de ocupación de 50 personas a un mismo tiempo. Una misa fúnebre católica cristiana se celebrará a las 10:00 AM el martes, 11 de agosto de 2020 en la Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción en Brownsville, TX. El entierro seguirá al cementerio de Los Cuates en Los Fresnos, TX. Mamá, cuando Dios vio que estabas demasiado cansada para seguir adelante y que no había esperanza en curarte, Él puso sus brazos alrededor de ti y dijo: "Ven a mí". Con los ojos llorosos te vimos partir y aunque te amamos mucho, no pudimos hacerte quedarte. Un corazón de oro dejó de latir, las manos trabajadoras descansaron.
