Maria De Jesus Loera, 53 of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020, in Rio Grande City, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilario and Isabel Sosa. She is survived by her husband, Raul “Cowboy” Loera Jr.; five sons, Guadalupe (Stephanie) Valdez, Octaviano Loera, Raul Loera III, George Lewis (Rosie) Loera, and Johnny Lee Loera; four grandchildren; sister, Dominga Aguirre; two brothers, Juan Sosa and Mario Sosa; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will begin Thursday, July 9, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Port Isabel City Cemetery. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. (may include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
