Tomasa R. Salazar, 80, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Harlingen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas Rivera and Trinidad Lopez Rivera; one sister, Isabel Hinojosa; two brothers: Guillermo Rivera and Policarpio Rivera. Tomasa is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Rafael S. Salazar; four daughters: Evangelina (Elisandro) Leos, Diana Salazar, Beatrice (Vidal) Mendoza; and Maria Elena (Timothy) Anderson; two sons: Rafael (Patricia) Salazar, Jr. and Roy Gregory (Emma) Salazar; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Gloria Rivera, Antonia Rivera, and Maria Rivera; and one brother, Martin Rivera. A private service was held followed by a graveside service at Port Isabel City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Roy G. Salazar, Rafael Salazar, Jr., Elisandro Leos, Daniel Mendoza, Vidal Mendoza, Jr., Vidal Mendoza, Sr., Darius Jones, and Steven Jones.
