Jose Vicente Banda, 67 of San Benito, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 28, 2020. Beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jose was a great storyteller who loved to make people laugh with his jokes and entertained them with his singing. Even though life handed him many challenges, Jose was always ready to lend a hand to others. He will be greatly missed. Jose is preceded in death by his father, Juan Banda Sr. and mother, Lucinda S. Banda. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Juan (Lydia+) Banda Jr., Francisco (Enriqueta) Banda, and Andres (Angie) Banda; and sisters, Maria Ramona (Joel) Trevino, Gloria B. (Celestino) Garcia, and Rosa Linda Banda. Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 3, 2020, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at St. Theresa Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Benito Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Juan Banda Jr., Francisco Banda, Andres Banda, Francisco Banda Jr., Kenneth James Garcia, Justin Clemente Ramos, Antonio Rodriguez, and Juan Antonio Banda.
