Ignacio Martinez Avila, 93 of Lyford, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leobardo and Juanita Martinez Avila; and his siblings, Laurencia Avila Martinez, Petra Avila Martinez, and Mario Avila Martinez. Ignacio is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elia Avila; sons, Edward Maldonado and Xavier Avila; two daughters, Sylvia Poyner and Velma Avila Thompson; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Loaquina Longoria, Elesia Avila Martinez, Leonarda Avila Martinez, and Gerardo Avila Martinez. Visitation will begin Thursday, February 20, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
