Obituary of Elva M. Escobedo

Elva M. Escobedo, 74 of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020. She was a lifetime resident of San Benito “La Gallina” area and retired from the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville.
Elva is preceded in death by her parents, Jorge and Ofelia H. Moncevalles; and sister, Paula Moncevalles De Los Santos.
She is survived by her loving husband, Felipe C. Escobedo; three sons, Sergio (Janea) Escobedo, Felipe C. (Hermelinda) Escobedo, and Ray (Laurie) Escobedo; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Isabel Bernal.
Visitation will begin Thursday, January 23, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020, at St. Benedict Catholic Church and entombment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park Mausoleum in San Benito, Texas.
