Obituary of Sofia F. Mata

Sofia Fuentes de Mata, 84, of Los Fresnos, Texas went to eternal rest on  Friday, June 14, 2019.

She was born in Carrizos, Tamaulipas Mexico.

she is preceded in death by husband, Enrique Mata Sr.,; daughter, Ninfa Mata parents; Faustino Fuentes and Maria Carmen Rivera as well as her siblings Guadalupe Fuentes and Juanita Garza.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Jaime ( Lorenza) Mata, Enrique (Irma) Mata and Daniel Mata: daughters Enedelia (Manuel Jr.) Martinez and Guillermina (Michael) Benavides; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren as well as her siblings Reyes Fuentes, Carlota Gonzalez and Dolores Olvera.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Eli Mata, Abraham Mata Jr., Manuel Martinez III, Daniel Mata Jr., Ismael Fuentes, Faustino Fuentes and  Elias Garza, Honorary Pallbearer will be U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Michael Benavides and U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Ninfa Jo Mata. 

Visitation will begin Sunday, June 16, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will continue Monday, June 17, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Templo Casa De Refugio Church in San Benito with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
