Obituary of Joe Weaver Jr.

Joe Weaver Jr., 77, of Los Indios, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

Joe was an avid San Benito Greyhound Football fan and was a season ticket holder since 1960.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Odilia Longoria Weaver.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 27 years, Lucia Weaver; children, Joey Weaver III, Lorraine Weaver, Carolyn (Freddie) Veliz, Lucia Linda (William) Standifer, and Oberlin (Erica) Fonseca II; eight grandchildren; his siblings, Jimmy (Sylvia) Weaver, Margaret (Mason) Vega, and Gilbert (Sonia) Weaver; and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 19, 2019, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas. Funeral service will conclude after the mass.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are William Standifer, Joey Weaver III, James Weaver II, OB II, Richard W. Vega, Scott Brady, and Steve Brady.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are OB III, Julian Alvarez Sr., Gilbert Weaver, Daniel Lopez, Mason Vega, Jimmy Weaver Sr., and the Greyhound Football Team.
