Obituary of Jose Hernandez

Jose Hernandez, 70, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 in Harlingen, Texas.

Jose was born in Mexico, then immigrated to the United States at the age of 20 to pursue the American Dream. The dream of opportunity. He worked various jobs but worked the last 43 years with Valco in Harlingen. His dreams became a reality when he married his wife, Marina, built a home, had three daughters, and his final dream of owning his own land and raising cattle.

He is preceded in death by his father, Avelino Hernandez; mother, Maria Natividad Mireles, and brother, Rodolfo Hernandez.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Marina Hernandez; daughters, Sandra Hernandez, Claudia (Steven Bloom) Hernandez, and Erica Hernandez; grandchildren, Jose Angel Castro, Jasmine Perez, Evan Michael Bloom, Cassandra Castro, Jake Bloom, and Shayne Bloom; and siblings, Angelina Salinas, Graciela Palacio, Efrain Hernandez, Avelino Hernandez, Aurelio Hernandez, and Sergio Hernandez.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a Talk at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A chapel service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
