Obituary of Adoracion (Dora) De la Fuente

Adoracion (Dora) De la Fuente, 80, of San Benito, Texas walked through the golden gates of heaven and returned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at her residence in San Benito after a battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Dora was born to the late Guadalupe Lucio in Harlingen, Texas on August 12, 1938. She was an employee at Levi’s for eight years until she decided to be a loving housewife and help her husband with their business De la Fuente Construction.

Dora was blessed when she married her best friend and soulmate, Antonio De la Fuente on August 8, 1955 in San Benito, Texas. Dora raised her four children with love, patience, discipline, and humility. She taught them how to love and the importance of everyday life, not to mention how strong willed and strong minded.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Lucio.

Dora is survived by her husband, Antonio; her sons, Jose (Veatris) De la Fuente and Antonio De la Fuente Jr.; her daughters, Iris (David) Rodriguez, Sylvia (Carlos) Ybarra; her grandchildren, Lino (Ruby) Lopez, Priscilla (Eric) Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, Charlie (Molly) Ybarra, Joshua (Taylor) Ybarra, Priscilla (Robert) Padilla, Connie (Rick) Garza, Jeremie (Cassandra) Medina, and CJ Medina; great grandchildren, Seth, Atticus, Ashley, Alex, Mikki, Karla, Ava, Lily, Chloe, Dylan, Hailey, Mia, Brody, Bailey, Mya, and Makayla; sister, Maria Infante; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will begin Monday, February 11, 2019, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at St. Theresa Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
