Obituary of Maria Eudelia Gonzalez

Maria Eudelia Gonzalez, 45, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.

She was a 1991 Alumni from San Benito High School. She was a band member, FFA and a Class Officer.  She received her Bachelors from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, where she served as RA and student body President. She was employed with the Workforce Solutions Cameron as a program director.

Maria was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, to all who knew her.  She was strong in heart and mind and fought a courageous battle, she loved her boys, to travel and watch movies.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, David T. Silva, Tomasita V. Silva, Eloy S. Gonzalez  and Isabel F. Gonzalez; 2 uncles: Daniel V. Silva and Rodolfo F. Gonzalez as well as 3 aunts: Dilia V. Silva, Tomasita S. Garcia and Maria Eudelia Gonzalez.

Maria is survived by her 2 loving children Michael Rey and Matthew Ryan Sosa, parents; Reynaldo F. Gonzalez and Delia Silva Gonzalez, her siblings; Alma Delia Gonzalez, Reynaldo Gonzalez Jr. and Rosa Elia Leal (Carmen Leal JR.), as well as 3 nephews, 3 nieces and 3 great nieces.

Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Carmen Leal Jr., Erik C. Leal, Brandon R. Leal, Ismael N. Escamilla, Albert D. Cardenas and Rene Gonzalez; serving as Honorary pallbearers will be her 2 sons, Michael Rey and Matthew Ryan Sosa.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church with interment following at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
