Obituary of Francisco Prieto

Francisco Prieto, 72, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at his residence in San Benito.

Francisco was a loving father, amazing grandfather, and a best friend to anyone who needed a friend. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and watching his grandkids grow. He will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Prieto; mother, Maria Covarrubias; brothers, Ramon Prieto, Jose Prieto, and Carlos Prieto.

Francisco is survived by his wife, Maria E. Prieto; children, Juana Maria (Ricardo) Montez, Luis Enrique (Carol) Prieto, Martha (David) Torres, and Martin (Patricia) Prieto; grandchildren, JohnRay, Alek, David Jr., Kristian, Juan III, Alexis, Jonathan, Alyna, Derek, JoAnthony, Randy, Luis E. Jr., Arianny, Raylan, Ricki, Sophia, and Caelan; brothers and sisters, Jose S. (Josefina) Prieto, Jose C. (Leonor) Prieto, Eufrosina Gonzalez, Rosario Gonzales, Guadalupe (Gavina) Prieto, Jesus (Triny) Prieto, Juan Jose (Lourdes) Prieto, Concepcion Rios, and Estela (Lazaro) Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. and will continue Friday, September 7, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas. Interment will follow at San Benito Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Martin Prieto, Luis E. Prieto, JohnRay Guajardo, Alek E. Prieto, Kristian R. Prieto, Jesus Prieto, Juan Jose Prieto, and David Torres Jr.
