Obituary of Nicolas M. Gonzalez

Nicolas M. Gonzalez, 80, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in San Benito surrounded by his loving family.

He took pride in his work as he worked and retired from the Harlingen Texas Fire Department as well as the SBCISD as a bus driver. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed watching the San Benito Greyhounds and the Dallas Cowboys. One the many things that brought him happiness was dancing with the love of his life, Yolanda. He will be deeply missed and loved forever.

Nicolas is preceded in death by his parents Wenceslado and Enriqueta Gonzalez, his mother in law Andrea Gaona and granddaughter Sarah Meredith.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 63 years Yolanda H. Gonzales, his children; Noe Gonzales, Norma Devine, Leticia (Neal) Pope, Nelda (Peter) Chavez, Nick (Diane) Gonzales Jr. and Charlie (Cindy) Gonzales. Also surviving are his siblings; Ovidio (Lupe) Gonzales, Melida (Jesus) Rodriguez, Frances (Valentin) Nerio, Ubense (Maria Elena) Gonzales Jr., Jose (Esperanza) Gonzales, Janie (Pete) Benavides, Mary (Ray) Garza, Gloria (Harry) Nunez and Rosie (Juan +) Garcia as well as 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

 Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9,  2018 at St Benedict's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito , Texas.
