San Benito - Alfredo Alcala, 71, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at his residence in San Benito. He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe G. Alcala, 5 daughters, Micaela Alcala, Maricela Alcala, Alma Leticia Medrano, Cruz Esmeralda Flores, and Aracely Alcala; 5 sons, Roque Alcala, Facundo Alcala, Alfredo Alcala, Jr., Alberto Alcala, and Jose Luis Alcala; 29 grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister Andrea Rodriguez Vasquez; and 3 brothers, Francisco Alcala, Porfirio Alcala, and Macario Alcala. Visitation will be held on Monday January 8, 2007 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. Chapel Services will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. with interment to follow to Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos. Pallbearers will be Jose Luis Alcala, Alfredo Alcala, Facundo Alcala, Angel Adan Alcala, Jorge Alberto Alcala, Macario Alcala, Marcos Gonzalez, Omar Flores, and Ricardo Medrano.
