Rio Hondo, TX - Manuela G. Muniz, 87, of Rio Hondo passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Harlingen Nursing & Rehab Center in Harlingen, TX. She was a lifetime resident of Rio Hondo; and a member of La Trinidad Assembly of God Church in Rio Hondo. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Chepo Muniz; her sons, Felipe Muniz and Juan Pepe Muniz; her parents, Tomas and Maria Echavarria Garcia; and her brother, Alfredo Echavarria Rodriguez and her sister, Marcela Gonzales. Ms. Muniz is survived by her children, Rosa Luz Muniz Lewis of Houston; Maria Alicia (Eduardo) Garcia of San Antonio; Senovio Muniz of Harlingen; Jose Luis (Isidra) Muniz of Harlingen; Rolando "Manguera" Muniz of Lozano; and Belinda Muniz of Austin. Visitations will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at La Trinidad Assembly of God Church located at 500 N. Harrolds St. in Rio Hondo with Pastor Lazaro Uribe officiating. Interment will follow to Rio Hondo City Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be her loving grandchildren; Honorary pallbearers will be Armin Aguillen, James A. McCarthy and sons, Jimmy Heath and Aubrey Heath.
