At the age of 98 Jesus Montes of San Benito, Texas has passed away on the 6th day of January, 2008. He was born in Linares, Nuevo Leon Mexico and was a hard working, responsible, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was blessed with a beautiful gift of long term memory, recalling and expressing the history of his life and the many changes within our own nation. Always giving advise, his famous quote was "Work is a blessing from God that allows a man to be Humble and Honorable". His enjoyed Rancheras and Corridos from his native land of Linares, Mexico. He lived and worked for many years in San Benito, Texas where he was loved and respected by many for his beautiful amicable nature towards everyone, specially his friends. Mr. Montes was preceded in death by his lovely wife Cecilia Rodriguez. We will always treasure your loving memory with dignity, pride, and respect. May you truly rest in peace. Survivors include the following; 5 Daughters; Emilia M. Cavazos, Lucia Montes, Guadalupe Montes, Maria De Jesus Montes, and Juana Montes. 2 Sons; Jose Montes, and Esteban Montes, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and even into the 5th generation of great grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for today, Monday, 1/7/08 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. the funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, 1/8/08 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mont-Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
