Obituary of Elizabeth Machuca Garcia

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Heaven just gained an Angel on December 22, 2017. Our beautiful Elizabeth Machuca Garcia, 38, departed this world for eternal rest and joined her creator, beloved mother: Olga Machuca and grandmother: Guadalupe Cervantes Machuca.

Liz was born in San Benito to Juan and Olga Machuca on July 10, 1979. She graduated from San Benito High School and worked for many years as a activity director at Retama Manor Nursing Center in Harlingen and briefly, at the Retama Manor in Raymondville until her illness. She is survived by the love of her life, her only child, Dominique Faye Lopez. She is also survived by her father, Juan Machuca Jr.; stepmom, Janie Espinosa; brothers, Johnny, Angel Anthony, John Michael and Julian Jacob.

Liz was a very caring individual, compassionate and generous to a fault. Spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy. Her “girlfriends” as she fondly calls her closest friends, remember her for her dazzling smile, love of high heels, purses, spicy food and the color turquoise. She will be terribly missed by all those who loved her. We are grateful to all those who cared for Liz throughout the four years of her courageous battle with breast cancer.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A Chapel Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Thomae Garza Funeral Home . In accordance to her wishes cremation will follow.
