Barbara Earle Murphy, age 94, of Bayview, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her daughter’s residence in Port Lavaca, Texas. Barbara grew up in Progresso and graduated from Weslaco High School. She worked as a secretary for Roloff Development Company in Laguna Vista, Texas. Barbara was a charter boat’s wife, and a good woman who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Matt Murphy; her son, Captain Matt Edward Murphy; her parents Earle and Nell W. Shull; three siblings: Arthur Shull, Helen St. John, and Julia Tullis; and two great-grandchildren, Eddie Murphy and Amanda McKamey.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Myra Murphy McKamey; her daughter-in-law, Ramona “Mona” Marie Murphy; her sister Dorothy Dawson; six grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
