Obituary of Gumesindo Alfaro Sr.

Gumesindo Alfaro Sr., 92, of Rio Hondo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Gumesindo Alfaro Sr. was a WWII Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. He married Rafaela Carmona on September 20, 1942. They were married for 48 years until she went to be with our Lord on December 07, 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Genaro Alfaro Sr and Maria Gracia Alfaro; his daughter, Juana Alfaro Lopez; and siblings: Jose Alfaro, Andrea Garza, Genaro Alfaro Jr, Antonio Alfaro, and Guadalupe Alfaro.
Gumecindo is survived by his children: Gumesindo Alfaro Jr., Andrea Zuniga, Jose (Alma) Alfaro, Pablo Alfaro, Juan (Francisca) Alfaro, and Luisa (Vicente) Suarez; siblings: Generosa Garza, Florencio Alfaro, Edwardo (Eva) Alfaro, Reynaldo (Corinna) Alfaro, and Jesus (Margarita) Alfaro; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.
A chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2018 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
