Obituary of Guadalupe Herrera Abrego

Guadalupe H. Abrego, 82, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.

Guadalupe was born and raised in San Benito, Texas. She worked at Dolly Vinsant Memorial Hospital as a C.N.A for 29 years and retired in 1997 and devoted her time to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Dolores Herrera; siblings, Alejandro Herrera Jr., Panchita (Rodolfo) Valencia, Maria (Luis) Alarcon, Theresa (Eusebio) Lopez, Jose (Paula) Herrera, Olivia Herrera, Cecilia Herrera, Pedro (Roberta) Herrera, Evila (Samuel) Davila.

Surviving Guadalupe is her loving husband; Ovidio Abrego Sr., children; Jesus Abrego, Ovidio Abrego Jr., Dolores (Carlos) Saldana, grandchildren; Jesus, Anissa, Aaron, Anthony, Jennah, Mia and Gia; great grandchildren; Mason, James and Arian as well as several nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas. Cremation will follow according to her wishes.
