John Holland, Jr. passed away on April 17, 2017 in Brownsville, Texas. John was born to John Holland and Maria Lopez in Port Isabel, Texas. He lived in Port Isabel all his life. He was a veteran and after this was a cook at Jetties Restaurant in South Padre Island, Texas for about 40 years. John, always filled with joy, was humble, kind, loving, and generous to name a few things. Also, the best husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather to us all. His passion was always to make someone smile. He is survived by his loving wife Amada N. Holland: children; Dora Holland, Robert Holland, David Holland, Daniel (Ana) Holland, John (Nohemi) Holland Jr., Concepcion Holland, Enrique Holland and Ana (Jaime Francisco) Holland-Flores as well as five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Thomae Garza Funeral Home, with burial following at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas. Military Honors will be Conducted at the graveside by the VFW Post #2035 of Brownsville, Texas. and V.F.W. Post #8791 of Port Isabel, Texas.
