Josefina A. Flores, 92, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. She was born in La Leona, Texas on October 16, 1923 to Jose and Josefa Atkinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Flores. Josefina is survived by her children: Maria Guadalupe Hopper and Manuel (Rosalinda) Flores; five grandchildren: Dina Hooper, Dion Hopper, Rick, Jessie, Valerie Flores; sister, Maria Luisa Cruz; brother, Tony Atkinson; numerous great-grandchildren; and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo. Interment will follow at La Leona Cemetery.
