Port Isabel - Commissioner Jesus Rolando "Pollo" Garza, Sr. - A.K.A. "Captain Jesse" of Port Isabel, TX went to be with be with the Lord on March 1, 2007. Captain Commissioner Garza was a very unique person that represented the Lord in many ways. He held strong to his convictions through the storm, never bowing down to whims of men. When it came to his family, Capt. Garza's love was unlimited, insisting they have the best he had to offer and giving his best. His family was not the only people touched by his passion; the community was also in his heart. Extremely social and friendly, there wasn't a single sole Capt. Garza did not extend his hand for support, help or protection. Although his journey here on earth was short, his accomplishments were numerous. Through the many lives he touched, we continue to see the fruits of his labor. We are his legacy and will continue on his path until it is our time; just like he told his son once, "I will wait for you at the finish line." He is survived by his loving wife of over 34 years, Maria De Jesus Garza - Port Isabel, one son: Jesus Rolando (Valerie) Garza, Jr. - Los Fresnos, two daughters: Sara Lee (Albert) G. Bernal - Blanket, TX, Olivia Catalina (Gerardo) Reyes - Port Isabel, TX, 7 grandchildren: Alex, Adrian and Alma Bernal; Cristina and Diego Garza, Isaiah and Mason Reyes, two brothers: Jose Amaya Garza - Port Isabel, Ruben Amaya (Maria Jesus) Garza - Mission, TX, three sisters: Irma (Daniel) Hooks - Houston, TX, Alma Garza - Port Isabel, TX, Hilda Guadalupe (Tacho) Mireles - Port Isabel, TX, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition Jesus is survived by his father and mother in-laws: Santiago and Berta Ochoa - Port Isabel, TX, brothers and sisters in-laws: Fronoy (Amelia) Ochoa, Jimmy (Sofia) Ochoa, Nora (Reyes) Guillen, Patricia (Art) Lopez and Sally Ochoa all of Port Isabel, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents: Jesus and Maria Catalina Garza; grandson: Jesus Andres Bernal and his brother in law: Rolando Ochoa. Visitation will be held today Sunday March 4, 2007 from 12:00 P.M. through 4:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX and will continue from 6:00 P.M. through 9:00 P.M. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S.
