Brownsville, Texas: Dr. Victor Manuel Gonzalez, Jr. of Brownsville, Texas passed away peacefully early Wednesday Morning. Dr. Gonzalez was a family practice physician since 1986. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Chester R. Gonzalez Jr.; father in law: Lic. Jaime Orvañanos Vertiz; brothers in law: Jimmy Alcalde and Javier Orvañanos Buch. He survived by his loving wife, Elena O. Gonzalez; his daughters: Adriana Gonzalez Orvañanos and Gabriela "Gaby" Gonzalez Orvañanos; his parents: Victor M. Gonzalez Sr. and Socorro A. Gonzalez; his brothers and sisters: Chester R. (Janet Leal) Gonzalez, Yolanda (Alex) Gonzalez-Fuentes, and Patricia A. (Raul) Gonzalez-Portillo; his mother in law: Isabel "Chabe" Buch de Orvañanos; sisters in law: Isabel Orvañanos Buch, Susana (Poly) Orvañanos Buch and Eugenia Orvañanos Buch; brother in law: Jaime (Concha) Orvañanos Buch; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A rosary was held Wednesday evening at St. Luke's Catholic Church. The Gonzalez family will be receiving visitors at the church beginning at 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral services which will begin today at 5:30 p.m. June 14, 2007 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive in Brownsville. Monsignor Gustavo Barrerra will be officiating the service. Cremation will follow after the services. Honorary pallbearers will be, Alejandro Fuentes, Sr., Alejandro Fuentes, Jr., Raul Portillo, Carlos D. Ajuria, Gonzalo Sedas Diaz, and Polly Fernandez. The family of Dr. Gonzalez wishes to extend their gratitude to the entire medical community and friends who cared for him.
